Lourens Soroseb is a Namibian former mining union leader and activist with Namibian Workers United who has faced severe political persecution, job victimization, and violent reprisals for organizing workers. Lourens is a trained firefighter who used to work at the Chinese owned Husab uranium mine in Namibia. For standing up against the exploitation of his fellow workers he was fired and blacklisted. He has been unemployed since October 2022.
